Buying a house that reassessed taxes. Any advice?

Yes until it's reassessed although in some places you can apply for an abatement. Assume that the taxes will be no less than the $5,500 figure and will probably be going up. If the home is reassessed at a lower figure and the taxes go down it will be pleasantly surprised. But make sure you can afford the house assuming the taxes will remain the same or go higher.
