Can i do anything to make my sister pay back the 10k she owes me out of the sale of her house?

I have the same problem with my brother and his wife inherited quite a few thousands but he maintains that was hers and nothing to do with him. I have phoned and emailed him but all he did was come back with how hard they are having it just now. However,after emailing him again a couple of weeks ago he responded with the tax man owes him money and when he gets it,it's mine.So,i'm going to hang on for a while and see what happens. If pestering your sister isn't working threaten to take her to court to get your money back...........
