How can I get my car back?

My car was repossessed 3 days ago and according to the lender, I have 10 days to get it back, until they sell for it auction! The car is under my mother's name, which she has filed for bankruptcy and I have bad credit. I was only late for 2 payments and was unware that they would take the car away from me in the middle of the night at 3am. I was never warned and neither was my mother and I have read all the laws and according to the law, they did not disturb the "breach of peace," but they did ruin my driveway by peeling it off a bit. I asked the bank on what I owe and I was willing to pay them my delinquencies. Then, I come to find that they are asking for the full amount of the car, which is $18,000, on which I cannot afford. I am saddened and frustrated by all this. I'm sick of crying and just want some answers. Please someone help me... I just want my car back....
