If i just stop paying for my timeshare what would happen?

i have a timeshare in florida which is joint owned by myself my cousin and my ex-husband. it is an absolute nightmare to get the monthly fees paid let allow the 2yearly maintenance fee! i have spoken to them about getting rid of it and they are completely unhelpful. i just don't want it anymore. isn't it like a house? if you stop paying for a house they repossess it! doesn't it work in the same way for a timeshare???
