Is conflict the key to a story?

maybe the only place available or rent is too high. maybe just after she puts deposit then he gets a gf don't think of them as conflicts think of them as obstacles... what would u face if u had to move? finding movers or friends to help, all the packing, renting a truck or finding out they lost the order and have to go to another company or get a too small truck. is the place furnished then what to do with your stuff, good luck
