Separation and financial rights to family home?

My ex partner and i bought a house together and when we separated he told me he was not going to pay me any share of the house or give me any of the furniture as i had no rights as when we applied for the mortgage i was refused as i had a house that was repossessed from a previous relationship , so i trusted him and never bothered to get a aggreement drawn up we have a daughter together and i have two grown up sons that are entitled to some of the money just the same as my daughter . i worked part time and i also claimed tax credits when he moved out the family home , i worked for many years and feel i deserve something out of this , do you know if i have any rights ? we are both in new relationships and i would like to be able to buy a new house with my partner as iam sure he will do with the money from this property . I also paid all the utility bills and poll tax also provided three children with essentials ( dinner money , clothes school uniform , with no help from there fathers !!
