Why do so many auto dealerships and banks want to repossess vehicles so early for hardly any reason?

I am surprised that you find it strange companies will remove items when people stop paying. How would you react if your boss just suddenly decided not to pay your wages for a month or two. I know it seems weird but when you agree to buy something and receive the goods in advance of payment your are obliged to pay on time.
